The Villages Summary:
The Villages is the largest single site residential development in the United States, which spans over 26,000 acres in three adjoining counties in Central Florida. Located an hour north of Orlando, The Villages is currently home to over 65,000 residents with a projected build out of over 110,000 residents and 4 million square feet of commercial buildings by 2012. The Villages is currently growing at a rate of roughly 7,500 new residents per year and has an average household income in excess of $93,750. The Villages exemplifies the "Live, Work, Play" environment in which all life's necessities and amenities are available within the community. The Villages' retail market currently includes 2.7 million sq. ft. of commercial buildings, including two town centers with over 700,000 sq. ft. of retail space. The Villages' plans to develop a third town center, Brownwood, were announced in March. The Villages has quickly become the retail destination for the greater Tri-County area.
