CFCAR Honors Top Commercial Real Estate Producers at Hallmark Awards Dinner
— John M. Crossman awarded top retail producer and Wilbur Strickland Award—
Orlando, Fla., March 29, 2007 — The Central Florida Commercial Association of Realtors (CFCAR) hosted the 12th annual Hallmark Awards dinner to honor the top commercial real estate producers of 2006 in the nine county Central Florida area. Individual awards were given to top producers in Orange, Osceola, Seminole, Brevard, Volusia, Flagler, Sumter, Marion and Lake Counties for Retail, Office, Land, Industrial, Most Deals, Investments and Mortgage Lending.
“We are grateful for the recipients who all help make the Central Florida market so strong,” said John M. Crossman, CCIM, president of CFCAR. “CFCAR is the real winner and we are thankful to represent the best in the industry.”

John M. Crossman, CCIM managing director of Crossman & Company was awarded the Wilbur Strickland Award, which is historically given to a person considered a founding father of commercial real estate in the area and represents outstanding dedication and support of the Central Florida Commercial Real Estate Society.
Deal of the Year: Jay Ballard and Harold Warren of Cushman & Wakefield and Apartment Brokers Services for Eagle Apartments Golf Club and Apartment Homes which closed in March 2006 at $100 million. This transaction took almost a year to conclude and involved potential condo conversions, golf course development, analysis to eventually develop into a combination condo and a for sale product.
CFCAR Community Service Award: Roger Jacobson of The Jacobson Group.
Jacobson was apart of numerous charitable initiatives over the last year, including:
- Founding the “Jacobson Group Walk for Awareness” to benefit the Komen Foundation for Breast Cancer
- Working with the Girl Scouts to help raise $175,000
- Partnering in Education with Orange County School System where he donate time to work with students at Thornebrooke Elementary School
- Donated part of every commission to the Children’s Miracle Network
- Part of committee to build the South West Orlando JCC
- Rotarian with Rotary Club of Orlando, where he also received the Paul Harris Fellow for this contributions
