Biography:
Sumter County has a population of approx. 70,000 and is one of the fastest growing counties in the nation. It is located in the heart of Florida, and has a median household income of $37,600. Sumter County’s transportation network is the “road to success!” Situated in the geographic center of Florida, Sumter County is referred to as the Crossroads of Central Florida. It is served by a wide variety of transportation services such as major interstate highways (I-75, US Hwy 301, SR 44 and the Florida Turnpike), railroads, bus lines, plus numerous interstate trucking firms that have their facilities in Sumter County. All these and more serve to link the county to major metro markets throughout the state, country and into Canada.
The Villages (the largest residential community in Florida) is located in Sumter County, and is growing at a rate of roughly 7,500 new residents per year with an average household income in excess of $76,000. This type of population growth has put Florida, and in particular Sumter County, at the top of many retailers’ expansion lists. All this creates an inviting atmosphere for businesses and makes Sumter County a great place to work and live.
The Villages Summary:
