ADVOCACY IN FLORIDA
A great deal of the success we have in advocacy on the state level comes from our affiliation with Florida Realtors, the biggest state association in the National Association of Realtors. Florida Realtors has over 210,000 members and maintains a full-time office in Tallahassee.

We're in the state Capitol watching out for Realtors and property owners' interests — on everything from rising property insurance costs to affordable housing.
Its mission is to advance Florida’s real estate industry by shaping public policy on real property issues; encouraging, promoting and teaching consistent standards for ethical practice and professionalism; and building on the efforts of local boards/associations to provide the information and tools members need to succeed.
ADVOCACY IN WASHINGTON
There are so many competing interests that lobby on Capitol Hill. That's one of the reasons why every single year, NAR holds it's Spring meetings in Washington, so that our members can go up and meet with their Representatives and Senators, and their staff. NAR also maintains a full-time staff of over 50 professionals at their DC office who are constantly working with both legislators and regulators.

REALTOR® Political Action Committee (RPAC)
REALTOR® Political Action Committee (RPAC) is a voluntary political action committee whose membership consists of REALTORS® interested in actively and effectively protecting the real estate industry by participating in government affairs at the local, state and federal levels. Members are asked to donate to RPAC through CFCAR and support our continued efforts to gain a discount of the Business Rent Tax in Florida and more.
Keep in mind that sometimes, advocacy means nothing happens. That means that there are things we enjoy, like no state sales tax on commissions, or higher transfer taxes on commercial properties, that are not touched by legislators and regulators because they know how powerful the Realtors are.
