• What is the Central Florida Commercial Real Estate Association?  CFCREA was formed in 2021 by the Central Florida Commercial Association of Realtors as a way to fully engage all of us in the commercial real estate (CRE) community in Central Florida.  There are many great CRE organizations in Central Florida, but they all cater to a niche- by property type, type of license, etc. We felt that one organization, bring together everybody in CRE, would benefit us all- appraisers, lenders, Realtors, office specialists, property managers, etc.
• If I am an Institute Affiliate through CCIM, IREM or another NAR Institute, don’t I already belong to CFCAR?  As an Institute Affiliate, each member pays an additional $105 to their Institute. This is split three ways, with CFCAR only getting $35 of that.  Over the past few years, it became obvious that there was a relatively large group of us that were getting CFCAR benefits by paying only $35 CFCAR, which caused a near-dissolution of CFCAR.  Therefore, IA members must join CFCAR or CFCREA to get full member benefits.
• If I am an Institute Affiliate, do I have to pay full dues to join CFCREA? No. Since we already receive $35, full membership dues are only $215 for IA members!
• Since the Realtors created this group, does joining mean I am a Realtor? No! Definitely not! There are some brokers who would rather not be Realtors, and therefore their agents can’t become Realtors. Unless you join CFCAR (or another Realtor Association), you can’t call yourself a Realtor.
• If my broker doesn’t want to join, can I still join?  Absolutely! Unlike CFCAR, this new group, CFCREA, allows all agents to join, even if your broker doesn’t want to!
• What are the benefits I get by joining CFCREA?  There are many, as shown on the Member Benefits page.
• Do I have to join to be eligible for the Hallmark Awards?  Yes! Only members of CFCAR or CFCREA will be eligible to submit transactions for the Hallmark Awards.
• Will CFCAR and CFCREA events be separate?  No. All CFCAR events will be open to members of both organizations at the same “member price”. Some events may be “members only” and not open to the public.
• Can I get involved if I am a member of CFCREA and not CFCAR?  Absolutely! Our CRE community become stronger when more of us are engaged in it.  There are lots of opportunities to get involved in programs, membership, sponsorships, community service and more!
